This particular job, was for a La Jolla client who had her water connection to her refrigerator fail and started leaking. She called me out too fix the floor witch had risen off the substrate 2inches and was no longer adhered. 
    The toughest part in any repair job is finding the old tile, in this case the home owner did not have a single one. The tile being a 12x12  glassed ceramic from approximately 15 years ago, we knew we weren't going to find any more. So I had no choice butt to remove them without breaking them. With the upmost attention to detail, I was able to remove the soaked subfloor and trace the source of the leak for her. At that point her insurance got involved and offered to replace her entire kitchen floor. Being that the homeowner had no taste in her stomach for a complete kitchen remodel, she had a water damage contractor dry out the affected area and after a few days of drying we began to put her floor back together. I brought all the pieces of tile home with me to carefully remove old thinset from the back of the tiles, once clean of old thinset glue, we super glue one of the tile  back together and then added a fibber glass mesh to the back of the tile for strength. We then put some hardy backer board down and re installed all her old tiles. After re grouting the new tiles, I gave the rest of the kitchen floor a through acid wash and then re sealed the entire kitchen. When Sun Diego tile was done you couldn't even tell there was an issue just a week ago.
